"What movement practices help bodies renegotiate the terms of their belonging within a given culture?I am thinking critically and with reverence about how and what our bodies learn in dance classes and choreographic processes; and then what ideologies our moving bodies serve as a result of our successful training. I'm thinking about obedience, rebellion and mastery. I'm thinking about what it means to be a valuable citizen of the “state” of dance, and by extension the world."
